Please find below a list of our classes currently offered.

Creative Watercolor Workshop, $85
Instructor: Carol Cooper
Ages: 15 years and up
Saturday March 6, 9am - 4:30pm
Level: Intermediate

Realism to Abstraction will be explored in this fun and energetic watercolor workshop for the intermediate painter.  Paint and paper supplied, but please see the supply list for additional materials needed. Carol Cooper is an author and  master teacher.  Come join the fun!


Mosaic Workshop, $65
Instructor: Kai Radon from Hot Springs Ar.
Ages 15+
2 days
Sat. and Sun. March 6&7, Noon -3pm

Mosaic is one of the oldest art forms. Come and learn the basic, and make a great project you’ll be proud to display in your home or give as a girt. We’ll create on Saturday and grout on Sunday. Cost may differ depending on the size you want to create.


Color Confidence Class, $75
Instructor: Chuck Blouin
Adult: 16+
6 weeks 
Mondays 9:00-11:00am, January 18th - March 15 (no class Feb. 8)

The goal oriented instructions will focus on actually mixing of colors, visually understanding their relationships, and practical application/techniques.  Bring all the colors you usually paint with, a palette knife, and any painting media you prefer.

 

 

Artist Sculpture Studio/Lab, $85
Instructor: Chuck Blouin
Adults: 16+

1st Session January 14, -Feb. 25 (no class Feb 11)
2nd Session March 4-April 15 (no class March 25)

Students will work with and learn the techniques of a practicing artist in a professional studio setting, have practical discussions about exhibiting their work, sale and professionalism based discussion of works of art. The studio/lab will include sculpture and some casting techniques.  Objectives include developing a heightened sensibility for three dimensional structure and composition. 


Artist Painting and Drawing Studio/Lab, $80
Adult: 16 +
6 weeks
Wednesdays 9:30am-12:00pm

1st Session January 13 - Feb 24 (no class Feb 10)
2nd Session March 3-April 14 (no class March 24)

The studio/lab will include painting and drawing techniques. Each student will conceive, design, and execute a piece of art, while dealing with issues of the traditional or non-traditional media. 

Painting and Drawing Class, $80

Feb. 23-April 6 (no class March 23),

Class will focus on technical aspects of painting and drawing.  The purpose is to find what the individual student needs or wants and set realistic goals to help them improve and enjoy themselves. This class is for all levels.

 

Rubber Mold Techniques, $85
Instructor: Chuck Blouin
Adult: 16+

April 20-June 1

 
This class will focus on the fundamentals of modeling in clay and moldmaking in plasters and rubber. : This is a hands on beginner's class in making one piece rubber molds and casting reproductions (students' work or other items) with easily obtainable, safe, and inexpensive materials. No experience is necessary.  


Sculpture Class, $85

Students focus on technical aspects of sculpture, conceiving, designing, and building a piece of sculpture dealing with traditional or non-traditional mediums used in sculpture. Develop an appreciation for the visualization process and integrate basic design skills with perceptions of how mass and space exist within the environment. 

Sculpture Studio Lab
Instructor: Chuck Blouin
Adult 16+
6 weeks
Mondays 6:30-8:30pm

1st Session January 11-February 15
2nd Session February 22- April 5th (no class March 22)

 These are small classes with individual instructions.  We will focus on technical aspects of sculpture.   The purpose is to find what the individual student needs or wants and set realistic goals to help them improve and enjoy themselves.


Alternative Process Photography Workshop, $65

Instructor: Dianna Hausam

Ages: 15+

Saturday April 10, 10:00am-3:00pm (1-hour lunch break)


Learn advanced photography and darkroom techniques and alternative processes.  Some of the techniques to be covered will be

solarization, cyanotypes (blue prints), staining prints, using texture screens and other materials to create prints, and

much more! 


Basic Darkroom Photography, $79

Instructor Dianna Hausam

Ages 15+

6 weeks, Monday, 6-9pm

February 8-March 15

This class covers basic darkroom techniques; creating a darkroom print including in-camera exposure, film development,

negative enlargement and print development. Learn the basic skills and equipment necessary to produce your own prints via

Basic Darkroom.


Handbuilding with Meaning, $79

Instructor: Susan Hutchcroft

Adults 16+

5 weeks,

1st Session Mondays, 10am-12pm, February 15- March 15

2nd Session Thursdays, 7-9 pm, May 13- June 10

Want to work in clay but not sure what to make. Students are guided to create pieces with your own personal significant.

This class is great for the beginner, intermediates  and those who want to refresh their skills. We go over all the basic

skills you need to design and create.  Class includes “open studio” access


Adult Wheel Daytime, $115

Instructor: Susan Hutchcroft

Adult, 16+

7 weeks

Thursdays, 10am-noon, February 25-April 15 (no Class march 25)


This class is great for the beginner and those who want to refresh their skills. We go over all the basic skills you need

to pull, and trim wheel thrown pottery.  Learn about clay in a relaxed fun atmosphere.  We’ll end our class with an

exciting raku firing.   All tools provided.


Adult Wheel Evening, $115

This classes advances learning on the wheel. We quickly review basic skills then move on to lid and handle making and a

deeper understanding of glazing.


Open-Studio Clay, $80

Instructors: NWACCC Monitors

4 weeks, (weeks do not have to be consecutive and they begin on Tuesday – Saturday)

Hours with Monitors: Thur. & Fri- 6:30-9:00pm, Sat. 10am-4pm

Hours without monitors: Tuesday-Friday: 11:00am-6:30pm


Great fun in a creative community! Open studio times are designed for students to work on self-directed projects, taking

advantage of a well-equipped studio and guidance from experienced monitors or instructors.


Comics and Manga

Instructor: Sean Fitzgibbon

Ages 10+

5 weeks

Fridays, 4-6pm, February 19-March 19


Students will explore the world of comics and manga. The students will then create their own fantastic characters and short

comic stories utilizing basic drawing techniques.


After School Art Club, $75

Creative fun is what this class is about. Kids get to experience many different art materials while using their imagination

in two and three dimensional art projects. Class ends with a art gallery reception for family and friends. Please go to our

Crazy for Art, $65

Instructors: Susan Hutchcroft and Carol Patrick

Ages 5-7

5 weeks

Fridays, 4-6pm, March 5-April 8 (no class March 26)


This spring is all about the bring the outdoors inside. What’s that behind the books a frog, gnome, a bug, or is that a

snake crawling up the wall. This class is designed expose kids to different art media in fun and unusual ways.  Dress them

to get messy.  What more could a kid ask for?


Kids Clay 1 - Dancing Creatures, $65

Instructors: Susan Hutchcroft and Carol Patrick

Ages 5-8

5 weeks

Wednesdays, 4-5:30pm, Jan 20-February 24


Dancing Creatures will have your kid creating with a beat. Legs that move, bodies that swing all in vivid color. Everybody

gets to take a spin on the pottery wheel. Last day of class students will put on a art show with a reception to show off

their creations and learn about being in a gallery. Smiles abound.



Kids Clay 2 - Dancing Sky, $55

Instructors: Susan Hutchcroft and Carol Patrick

Ages 5-8

4 weeks

Wednesdays, 4-5:30pm, March 17-April 14 (no class March 24)


Dancing Sky will have your kid creating with the wind, sun, and stars in mind. Beautiful wind chimes and garden art all in

vivid colors. Everybody gets to take a spin on the pottery wheel to make a miniature birdbath. Last day of class students

will put on a art show with a reception to show off their creations and learn about being in a gallery. Smiles abound.


Youth Clay: Clay Bizarre, $75

Instructors: Susan Hutchcroft and Carol Patrick

Ages 9-12

5 weeks

Tuesday, 4-6pm, March 2-April 6 (no class March 23)


Students learn basic hand-building skills, intergraded with design principals, while creating fanciful creatures designed

from 2 completely different animals. Each creature will be set in an environment which tells the story of how 2 became one.

Kids will also spend a good deal of the time also on the pottery wheel. 

 

Youth Wheel, $85

Instructors: Susan Hutchcroft and Carol Patrick

Ages: 10+

6 weeks

Fridays, 4-6 pm, January 22-February 26


Students will begin or continue to learn the satisfying art form of throwing on the wheel.  Each student will have their

own wheel with one on one help from the instructor. Students will have free time, where they can explore developing their

own style.  Clay pots will be finished off with colorful glazes, handles and spouts.


Creative Mosaics, $65

Ages:  8-16

4 weeks

Mondays, 4-6pm, January 4-25


Students will first create a colorful mosaic of their choice using vinyl as tiles and watercolor to create the grouted

effect.  Then, the kids will design a motif to be the centerpiece of their ceramic mosaics. Students will use colorful

ceramic tiles and their motif to create a one of a kind mosaic.



Parent and Child Art Classes - Let the Sun Shine In, $45

Instructor:  Suzie Sanford

Ages: 4-5

4 Weeks

Mondays , 9:30-11:00am, March 29-April 19


Class Description for Website: Get your kids excited about Spring! Kids create an original sun motif from clay with the

help of a parent. They will also create small flowers and leaves to attach to their sun to create a wall hanging. Students

will also learn how to make paper, then use their handmade paper to make a colorful name plaque for their door.
